an important note for new vendor applicants

The Farmers’ Market at Sandpoint is highly selective. All vendors, products, services, and foods are thoughtfully vetted against the market’s priorities and guidelines.

If your product, food, or service does NOT feature locally sourced ingredients/materials, demonstrate your significant time, creativity, and craftsmanship, and/or represent a unique or one-of-a-kind offering, it is not likely you will be accepted as a new vendor.

There are several categories that are at or near capacity as we go into 2026. To protect the balance of the market, the Farmers’ Market at Sandpoint is not accepting applications from new, non-farm vendors in certain saturated vendor categories. Openings for new vendors may be extremely limited in highly competitive product categories (i.e, prepared foods, jewelry) with some subcategories (i.e, baked breads, pastries/sweets) closed altogether to balance the overall market experience. In addition, new products in the beverage category are now limited to farmers offering beverages featuring their own farm-sourced produce; we are not accepting applications for new, non-farm beverage vendors.

For 2026, we are not considering new Saturday vendors in certain saturated categories. If you are interested and able to regularly join our Wednesday market, your application may be considered for approval as a “Wednesday only” vendor in categories that are not available for new Saturday vendors in 2026.

To support a diverse, dynamic, and balanced market experience, the following sub-categories are closed or limited for the 2026 season:

CLOSED

(not accepting applications from new, non-farm vendors for Saturday markets)

Baked Loaves/Breads ● Pastry/Sweets/Cakes ● Non-Farm Beverages

HIGHLY COMPETITIVE

(new, non-farm applicants should expect strong competition for

the extremely limited openings in these subcategories)

Ready-To-Eat Foods ● Fiber Arts/Textiles ● Jewelry ● Soap/Bath/Body Products

To help the market expand its Wednesday market footprint, consideration may be given in closed/competitive categories for new applicants who select “Wednesdays only.”

To avoid disappointment and unnecessary expense, please be sure you are not applying for products in any of the closed or limited categories and you understand ALL of the rules, regulations, and health department requirements for all products before you submit your application and pay your non-refundable application fee.

If your offering(s) do not meet our criteria or fall in an already over-saturated category, we may not find them to be a fit for the market; we appreciate your understanding.

If any of your products fall into the prepared foods category (including tinctures and syrups intended for ingestion and some soap/topical bath/body products), please be sure you are familiar with the guidelines and requirements governing foods that are/are not allowed according to the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare's Department of Public Health restrictions related to Cottage Food Businesses.
